| Roscommon in Clare romp Clare
0-8 Roscommon 2-15
After a shaky start the away side finally got going with Derek Connellan
chipping in with a man-of-the-match performance.
Clare were down to 14 men when full-forward David Russell was dismissed
in the 54th minute.
Carlow 2-4 Limerick 2-10
Two fortunate first-half goals kept Carlow in this tie as Limerick struggled
to bring any consistency to proceedings at Dr. Cullen Park.
A 25th-minute penalty dispatched by the ever reliable Michael Reidy settled
Limerick’s nerves and helped them extend their unbeaten run in 2A.
Division 2B Round-up:
Westmeath 0-15 Wicklow 1-9
Fourteen-man Wicklow couldn’t hold back Dessie Dolan who scored
11 points against their Leinster rivals to move Westmeath to the top of
the Division 2B table.
In a niggly affair 10 yellow cards were issued.
Antrim 2-13 Waterford 0-8
One of the most comprehensive wins of the weekends Antrim easily accounted
for Waterford and in truth should have won by more.
Louth 0-20 Sligo 2-6
More worries for Sligo as they suffered their third defeat in a row to
a Louth side pushing for promotion. Louth raced into a 0-9 to no score
first-half lead setting the trend for the game.
Cavan 0-13 Tipperary 1-9
Perhaps the most exciting of the Division 2 clashes.
Tipperary were denied a famous victory by a Cavan comeback having led
by 1-4 to 0-5 at the break.
Three sending offs and injury time near misses meant the home crowd had
to wait until the final whistle to celebrate.
