Police seeking man’s
family
POLICE in Leeds are appealing for help in tracing the family of a man
who died last week.
Francis McGuire died at Ashland Nursing Home in Methley, Leeds but none
of his family have come forward.
The 81-year-old moved to the nursing home on January 26 2006.
Sue Colecough — who works at the nursing home — said: “Francis
was a sweet old chap who died of natural causes.
“In the year that he has been with us nobody had been to the home
to visit him. And no next-of-kin was registered when he came to us from
his old nursing home.”
Mr McGuire had suffered from dementia for a number of years and had previously
resided at Harry Booth House in the Leeds 11 area.
He had also been admitted several times to the Aire Court community mental
health unit, Middleton, Leeds.
Age Concern acted as his sponsor when he arrived at Ashland. West Yorkshire
Police can only confirm that Mr McGuire was Irish and had lived in Leeds
for some time.
Pam Taylor at the Coroner’s office in Leeds said: “We are
still seeking Mr McGuire’s family. No-one has come forward yet,
but we are hoping with the help of newspapers that his family will be
identified.”
n If anyone has information on the family of Mr McGuire so that they can
be notified of his death please contact Sarah Atkin or Pam Taylor at the
Coroner’s Office on 0113 241 4105. |
