the first time in almost two decades the number of Irish taking trips
abroad is greater than the number of visitors who are choosing to visit
the Emerald Isle.

Office in the first quarter of 2007 there were 1,575,000 Irish visits
overseas compared with 1,478,000 overseas visits to Ireland an increase
of 17 per cent.
Overseas trips to continental European routes also grew by 28 per cent
and there was a decrease of two per cent in the number of overseas trips
on sea cross-channel routes compared with 2006.
