Liverpool launches new business club An Irish business
club has been successfully launched in Liverpool and it is hoped the concept
will now spread to other cities in Britain and Ireland.
Around 100 people attended the launch night at St. Michael’s Irish
Centre and organiser Agnes Fitzgerald from Co. Limerick believes that
many opportunities will come from the business connections made.
She said: “Our aim is to link Irish business people at all levels;
professions, trades people, services — we want to cover the whole
spectrum so Irish people have a network of contacts throughout the city
and further afield.”
The networking group is called Irish Business Abroad and is initially
being launched in Liverpool and Dublin.
Ms Fitzgerald said: “There are already lots of business contacts
between the two cities and we hope to build on those and expand outwards.”
The group meets every month and the next social evening is on February
7 at St. Michael’s.
Director of Entourage PR and Event Management Donna McCourt said: “It
is a very relaxed venue and a good environment to make business connections.
“As well as that they have a shop selling Irish produce and a lot
of the people at the launch were pleased to be able to buy products they
can only usually get at home.”
