We should be proud of Wogan who is a fine ambassador
Many
thanks for your interview with Terry Wogan (The Irish Post, June 23).
It never ceases to amaze me just how much criticism from within the Irish
community is directed at this man.
Okay, so he may have made the decision to make his life in Britain and
he may have taken honours from the Queen.
But over the years he has done much to boost the profile of the Irish
community in this country and been a fine ambassador for us.
The fact that he is still hosting Britain’s most listened to radio
programme says a lot for his talents.
We Irish should be proud of this man.

It seems the man himself Terry Wogan continues to divide the Irish.
I much enjoyed reading your recent interview with him but on chatting
to some friends was amazed at their reaction.
It seems some still regard him as some sort of a traitor for having made
a good living in Britain and being gracious enough to thank the country
for that.
When will we Irish ever learn that we should be proud of the achievements
of men like Terry Wogan? I for one am.

Terry Wogan's recent interview in The Irish Post was a delight
to read.
It is good to see someone who has achieved so much and is still working
hard who does not take himself too seriously.
How many other stars of his calibre can anyone think of who is so ready
to take the mickey out of himself?
He is a shining example of good old Irish humour.

I Greatly enjoyed your two pages on Terry Wogan. Nothing in it I could
disagree with.
The people of Ireland should be proud of such a good ambassador, most
particularly the people of Kenmare!
I always enjoy reading The Irish Post.
