Government guilt trip punishing honest folk

I wonder how long it will be before our politicians will be appearing in public with their faces and hair green, their children green, their clothes green, their cars green?

The whole bloody lot of them will be walking and cycling about trying to out-do each other wearing every possible shade of green known to man to demonstrate how much they care.

I am all for protecting the planet and our environment (I have yet to meet somebody who is not) but for God’s sake let us get a grip on reality and stop the ridiculous hypocrisy and hype.

Can you just imagine the relief in China?

I am sure they are rubbing their hands in glee saying things like: “Carry on lads. The pressure is off. We are OK. Prince Charles and the super-green politicians are on the case. Britain is cutting back on everything from light bulbs to leaving TVs on standby to holidays and car journeys.

“Now let’s see where we are going to build the next power plant.”

The problem as I see it is that we live in a society that is being pounded to pieces relentlessly by punitive legislation aimed at producing guilt at every turn.

You are branded an uncaring, selfish yob unless you go along with every daft hair-brained scheme they manage to dream up as they try to control every part of our daily lives.

If you work hard and try to better yourself you are taxed to breaking point because you are probably in grave danger of upsetting some that are too bloody lazy to work and we cannot have that.

If you somehow manage against all the odds to buy your own property then you are treated as if you have stolen it at gunpoint from the state or the less fortunate.

If you are blessed by any chance to have a nice view from said property then may God help you. We cannot have that. This will cost you big time. Who the hell do you think you are? Not only do you want to own a property but you also want a nice view you selfish swine? How dare you!

Will builders feel obliged in future to put new houses in areas with horrible surroundings in order to keep costs down and avoid nice view taxes?

If they do then you can bet that there will probably be a law very quickly introduced against horrible views.

The rats will get us one way or the other.

There is something seriously wrong with a government that wants to punish you at every opportunity for attempting to better yourself.

Where did all this begrudging bureaucratic stupidity and utter nonsense start and where will it end?

It will only end when we eventually say enough is enough and make ourselves heard.

Use your vote at the next election.

Do not waste the opportunity to voice your displeasure and disgust.
