| Tireless organisers to thank for
St. Patrick’s festivities
THEY were out in force in Manchester and Birmingham over the weekend as
the St. Patrick’s celebrations got under way.
A week before the big day itself more than 200,000 took to the streets
to celebrate Ireland’s patron saint.
The crowds thronging these two magnificent cities were a vivid indication
of the strength of the Irish community in 2007.
This coming weekend London, Luton, Bristol, Liverpool and a host of other
towns and cities will be staging their own St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
We’re sure all will go with a swing thanks to the tireless work
of the organisers who spend so long masterminding the events. To them
we all owe a great debt of gratitude.
For without their efforts St. Patrick’s Day here in Britain would
not be the magnificent show it has now become.
