Paying Tribute to a Scottish Legend

Traditional music fans from across Britain and Ireland will be flocking to Scotland in January to pay tribute to a legend.

The seventh annual Jimmy McHugh memorial concert takes place on Saturday January 14 at the Woodside Halls in Glasgow.

And organisers are hoping the £8 tickets £8 will make ideal Christmas gifts for traditional music connoisseurs.

The annual concert commemorates a man who made a huge contribution to Irish music in Glasgow.

Jimmy McHugh was the first chairman of the Irish Minstrels branch of Comhaltas in Glasgow.

And once again some of Ireland’s leading traditional musicians will be in the city to pay tribute to his memory.

The bill includes pianist Verona Commins whistle player Marian Egan flautist Michael Harty accordion player Jimmy McGreevy, singer Flora McNeill and Gerry O’Connor on fiddle.
