| Traditional Fans Will Return to Camden
Britain's biggest festival of Irish traditional music, song and dance takes
place from October 21-30.
Return to Camden Town 2005 is 10 days of concerts, céilí, set dancing,
workshops, sessions and much more.

Events will take place at the London Irish Centre, Camden Town and in
neighbouring venues.
Concerts include the internationally-renowned Altan as well as rare London
appearances by flute-player Matt Molloy (of The Bothy Band and The Chieftains)
in the company of fiddle/flute/banjo maestro John Carty and the acclaimed
guitarist Arty McGlynn.
There is also a rare opportunity to catch four members of one of Ireland’s
foremost musical dynasties in the shape of the Begley family from Co. Kerry,
as well as the opportunity to see concertina virtuoso Noel Hill with De
Dannan’s Alec Finn.
Add to that melting pot the city’s own London Lasses and Pete Quinn,
a flying visit from the wonderful US-born Sligo-inspired fiddle player Brian
Conway, Clare’s McCarthy Family and the evocative singing of Billy Teare
and music-lovers will be in for a rare treat.
Sligo’s premier whistle and lute player Carmel Gunning will be launching
her CD The Sligo Maid alongside a wealth of céilí bands, dance classes and
free concerts taking place over the first weekend.
There’s also plenty to attract Irish dance fans with céilí dancing nights
in the company of the Four Courts Céilí Band and the Heather Breeze Céilí
Band, as well as dance classes led by acclaimed tutors Eileen O’Doherty,
Aidan Vaughan, and Leora Barrett.
Tickets for the festival’s concert and dancing events have already gone
on sale and are available from 07871 088121 or the website and the festival’s
