A musical holiday

IF YOU are looking for a holiday with a difference in Ireland during 2007 then a week at the Fiddlers Retreat Irish music and culture experience is the place for you.

Whether you are a musician or simply a lover of all things Irish there is something on offer.

The course director is Theresa Bourke — fiddle player and teacher.

She has travelled extensively to 40 countries with the internationally-renowned Irish dance show Lord of the Dance and Comhaltas concert group Brú Boru.

The village of Loughmore in Co. Tipperary is where you will be based for the six-night holiday.

It is a very quiet and picturesque village with Loughmore Castle beside the River Suir adding to its charm.

Loughmore is located in the heart of the Golden Vale — Ireland’s richest agricultural region and within easy reach of Shannon and Cork airports.

The other activities that are included in the Appreciation course is an introduction to the Irish language enabling you to pick up some phrases and sayings, cookery demonstrations, outings to sporting events, afternoon sightseeing tours and night time traditional Irish music sessions.

All courses can be tailor-made and numbers of guests on each is always small so as to ensure personalised attention and to maintain a homely atmosphere.

All meals prepared during your visit to Fiddlers Retreat are typically Irish and the finest local produce is used.

Now in its eighth year Fiddlers Retreat welcomes you to the first and only school of its kind in Ireland that runs a Traditional Irish Music and Culture School.

You will have free time to relax and enjoy the countryside or a drink and chat in the local village pub.

Home-stay accommodation and meals add to your unique and authentic Irish holiday experience.

The Appreciation Holiday course is designed specifically for non-musicians and musicians of other instruments, styles and traditions of music that want to experience many elements of our rich cultural heritage.

Accommodation and meals are included in the package of six nights which comes to approximately £650.

Fiddlers Retreat has been featured on television and radio in Ireland and Canada.

Newspaper and magazine reviews constantly sing the praises of what is on offer but more importantly are the reviews of all guests who have already enjoyed the Fiddlers Retreat experience.
