Doherty is innocent OK?

By Grainne McLoughlin

PETE DOHERTY: Protesting his innocence.Notoriously troubled Pete Doherty says he’s innocent. Of what? Well taking drugs of course. The Babyshambles frontman protested his innocence after being questioned by police following an anti-drugs raid.

And all the rock star had to say was that they got it wrong and the officers were a “pain in the arse”.

The love interest of high-profile model Kate Moss, was detained for more than 12 hours after playing a gig but denied there was any logical reason. Speaking

after the event he’s reported to have said: “It’s just some sort of mistake, that’s all.”

He said: “It’s just a prescribed thing.

“It’s for an implant and they thought it was hard stuff.

“I have got to get a letter from the doctor and in the words of Samuel Johnson, the law is a pain in the arse.

“Every day of this tour we have been told we are going to get raided and basically, they have found f*** all.

“The only drugs I had on me were prescription drugs in my implant but it had gone septic and it’s spewing them out.

“Speaking for myself, I have been clean on this tour.

“It’s libellous to call me a smackhead — it’s a good job I am too disorganised to sue.”
