Young musicians in exchange

Twenty-five young musicians from Ennis, Co. Clare led by Majella Bartlay and 16 young musicians from Tullamore led by James Hogan will arrive in Glasgow on Friday, October 12.

They will be taken to St. Andrews in the Square, Glasgow City centre for a welcome meal and session with members of the local branches of Comhaltas.

On Saturday, October 13 they will be treated to a master class by two famous Scottish artistes Simon Thoumire and Claire McLaughlan which will take place in Rutherglen Town Hall at 1pm.

Following the master class they will be treated to a meal in Rutherglen Town Hall and perform later at a concert in the Town Hall.

This will include the three groups Ceoltóirí na Breataine, Ceoltóirí na Sinnoine and Ceoltóirí Tullamore.

Tickets are available at the Box Office on 0141 613 5700 £5 for adults and £3 for children.

On Sunday evening they will meet for a meal at the George Street Travel Inn, Glasgow and play in a music session with the local branches.

Finally on the Monday they will be given an opportunity to perform in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dance in Glasgow before setting off home.

During their stay they will be accommodated in host houses on Friday and Sunday and on Saturday will stay in the George Street Travel Inn.
