| Sham reward for Saw Doctors show By

The Saw Doctors
are to see their good charity in the aftermath of the Asian Tsunami repaid
in Sri Lanka where a town is set to be named in their honour.
The Galway rock group raised thousands of euros for locals after the disaster,
which claimed the lives of countless people.
The lads — who brought out a special limited edition DVD of their
New Year’s Eve concert in Galway and sold all 1,000 within a few
hours — are now planning to travel to Sri Lanka to play in that
very town.
“We did another 1,000 signed limited edition and these also sold
out at e15 each,” said Saw Doctors manager, Ollie Jennings in a
recent interview.
“We handed over e30,000 to two Sri Lankan friends of ours who were
going back there to help rebuild. The response was overwhelming and we
were only too glad to help out in some way.”
The money they raised helped build several houses and buy several boats,
one of which was named N17 after the band’s massive single.
Jennings said: “We are planning to tour Australia for the first
time since 1993 so we are hoping to work a visit to Sri Lanka as part
of this.
“Obviously we would like to visit Sham Town — the town named
after our record label — and see the N17 boat and hopefully help
out a bit more when we are in Sri Lanka”.
