Hey Judas — you’re losing the public sympathy vote
WHAT
bloody hell difference does it make whether Heather Mills McCartney eventually
manages to get £50million, £100million or £200million
out of her former Beatle husband Paul.
Does anybody apart from Paul McCartney himself and his told-you-so daughter
Stella really care that much?
I imagine the £500-an-hour lawyers are lapping it up and might even
have a mild vested pride interest in the result — but I am sure
it leaves the rest of the population choking with sincere indifference.
I don’t believe either Paul or Heather will come out of it too
well but I would venture to say that she is winning the public sympathy
vote as examples of his petty bloody-mindedness emerge. Changing the door
locks and whinging about bits of cleaning materials what the hell is that
all about? Grow up Paul. Get a bloody life.
The newspapers of course just love it. They did a first-class hatchet
job on Heather. I suspect that they had some of the stories for some time
and were patiently waiting for an opportunity to pounce once the threat
of a possible McCartney lawsuit was removed.
They threw big sums of money at some of her so-called former friends and
colleagues. These charmers gleefully grabbed every penny to dish the dirt,
whether real or imagined, on the woman who probably never did them any
harm whatsoever.
Still, a buck is a buck and if some rag is willing to flash the folding
stuff then why let an inconvenient sense of decency confuse matters?
Grab the money and run like hell. Fingers up to everybody. What a lovely
world we live in.
Words like ‘without blemish’ and ‘cast first stone’
spring to mind.
Paul McCartney is reputed to be worth in excess of £800million so
how much is a fair settlement? I don’t have a clue because it is
an obscene amount of money.
Whatever the final amount eventually is she can never spend it all. He
can never spend the remainder so he should just pay up and shut up.
He is going to give a huge wad to the lawyers anyway. How can they justify
racking up £500 an hour?
Life is much too short and surely for the sake of their young child it
could all have been handled with a bit more dignity and generosity of
spirit
You can’t take it with you and a friend of mine summed it up perfectly
when he said: “You never saw a hearse pulling a trailer!”
