Over six months after Live 8 organiser Bob Geldof is not about to let politicians forget what it was all about.

The former Boomtown Rats frontman has vowed to ensure politicians stick to their word regarding aid pledges they made at last year’s G8 summit in Edinburgh.

The well-known humanitarian has plans to campaign against those who fail to keep promises to pledge 0.7 per cent of their nations’ gross domestic product to help relieve poverty.

He says: “I will be extremely active in trying to get these people thrown out of office. I sincerely hope it won’t be necessary.”
