Finbarr Wall to electrify music night LONDON’S
Music Traditions Club on Friday, July 6 features Finbarr Wall.
Finbarr was born in Dublin from a Cavan/Dublin family and was brought-up
in Lancashire before moving to London in the 1960s.
He is a great song enthusiast with a fine voice and an ear for a good
tune.
Finbarr has an eclectic selection of traditional and contemporary Irish
songs and has introduced little-known songs from writers such as Mickey
MacConnell, Liam Weldon, Con Ó’Drisceoil and Bryan O’Rourke
as well as several of his own.
His Song Of The Holloway Road where Finbarr has lived for the past 30
years is a long-overdue tribute to the thriving Irish scene in the pubs
of London during the ’60s and ’70s with a wry observation
of recent changes. Finbarr will be supported by Sheena Valley from Armagh.
She is a fine-flute and tin-whistle player and a familiar face on the
Irish music scene in London.
Sheena has performed at the annual return to Camden Town Festival and
played played many gigs in Ireland.
Tickets for members are £6 and concessions £3.50. Non-members
