Danu end their touring days

CONCERT-goers in their thousands are preparing to say goodbye to Irish music legends Danu.

The band is touring for the last time — with gigs across Britain as they bid farewell.

The band will continue to make records but members have decided they’ve had enough of life on the road.

Danu’s Benny McCarthy said: “We still hope to make albums, but touring as a band will end after this tour.

“We have not argued or broken up it’s simply that we are all married with children and spending 200 days on the road annually is over.

“We want to spend more time with our families.”

Danu are one of the most captivating Irish traditional groups to emerge in recent years — playing a stunning mixture of evocative instrumentals and stirring songs.
