Colleens to entertain us

By JOE MULLARKEY

HAMMERSMITH Irish Centre has a traditional music session on Friday October 13 from 8pm.

The session organised by the West London branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann sometimes features Celtic Colleens Mollie Burke, Helen Mullen and Maeve Burke.

The girls recently appeared on the new BBC2 show Let Me Entertain You with Brian Conley and made it through to the final but sadly not the grand final.

The Burkes have their roots in Kerry and Helen has her roots in Lettermullen in Connemara.

The girls were thrilled with their success and regularly attend the monthly sessions at the Hammersmith Irish Centre with the West London Branch of Comhaltas.

They also teach music at St. Thomas More Hall on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich.

At the same venue on Sunday October 15 there is set dancing with Andy Martin and His Set Dance Gang. Doors open at 2.30pm and entry is £4.
