Brave Kylie handed song by legend Boy George

Eighties pop icon Boy George has reportedly written a song for Australian singer Kylie Minogue about her relationship with former boyfriend Olivier Martinez.

The ex-Culture Club singer, who is in Australia for the Gay Mardi Gras in Sydney, has penned two new songs for the actress-turned-pop-star.

He said: “I don’t know that she will do with the one about her and Olivier because I wrote it before they announced they had split up — about all the stuff written about them in the papers.

“There is another one about survival, about what she has gone through.”

Kylie has successfully battled against breast cancer in the last couple of years and recently split from French actor Martinez after four years together.

tralee tragedy

A YOUNG Irishman who suffered a serious allergic reaction after attending a party in his hometown of Tralee has died in hospital.

The man, in his 20s, was rushed to hospital last weekend after attending an event in the town the previous night.

Partygoers attending the bash raised the alarm and called the emergency services after discovering the critically-ill man.

He was admitted to Kerry General Hospital where he was given emergency treatment.

The man was transferred to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick before losing his battle for life a few days later.

lost appeal

AN IRISH doctor from Co. Cork who had been struck off after being found guilty of professional misconduct in relation to eight of his female patients has lost his High Court appeal against the Medical Council’s decision.

The judge in the case ruled that Dr James Barry tricked people into becoming his victims and carried out acts for his own perverse gratification.

Barry was appealing against a ruling made by the Medical Council’s Fitness to Practise Committee last year that found the 81-year-old had conducted inappropriate examinations without patients’ knowledge.

But Mr Justice Charlton ruled against Barry.

He told the hearing: “I am satisfied to the truthfulness of all of the witnesses in this case.

“This court affirms the decision of the Medical Council that Dr James M Barry has been guilty of gross misconduct with each of the eight patients.

“The court directs the erasure of Dr Barry’s name from the register of medical practitioners in Ireland.”
